The Hungarian language is spoken by approximately 15 million people, of which less than 10 million live in Hungary. Large minorities of Hungarians can be found in Romania, Slovakia & Serbia, and also in North America. The Hungarian language is not indo-European and has not similarities with any other language, excepted to a certain extent with Finnish & Estonian.

The economic situation of Hungary has recently been critical and the purchasing power has thus stopped catching up with EU average. The internet sector is relatively well-developped and monetization of websites and domains has been made possible by Google adsense in Hungarian and other advertising agencies offers. However, the market for domain names in Hungarian have not really started yet. Owing to good fundamentals, it may develop in the following years.
